Let me introduce you to Fee.
I’m so proud to be able to showcase Fee this month and hope that her experience of PT will inspire you as much as she continues to inspire me.
Fee is a busy working Mum. She came to me with the goal of working on her overall sense of health and wellbeing. Her primary focus wasn’t necessarily on losing weight, but more learning how to make sensible lifestyle and nutrition changes that were sustainable and manageable.
Fee had experienced a health scare prior to coming to me and this acted as a bit of a wake up call. She realised that she had to do something or there would be consequences and therefore had determination, strength and readiness to really go for it.
We started simply and set some micro goals – to ensure that she would be challenged but not overwhelmed and would be able to make progress in an achievable yet effective way.
I then helped Fee to make a plan; to focus on three main sectors:
- Nutrition coaching: Education on how to fuel her body properly and how to listen to body cues. We focused on meal prepping to suit her busy life and suggested food options/ alternatives.
- Exercise: Personal training sessions weekly, following a program tailored to her capabilities. We began with a 45 minute session once a week but quite quickly took that to 2 sessions a week, adding an extra 30 minute session in. This was the game changer and progress soared from here. Sessions began focusing on resistance training, and we slowly added in more complex moves as Fee’s strength improved.
- Mental wellness: Working together to improve the mental wellbeing particularly around herself and her body, we started using a journal for her to monitor her thought patterns.
With Fee’s initial determination, she flew into it and improvements were noticed straight away. We chose NOT to monitor her performance using typical metrics such as calorie counting and weight loss but instead opted for a non-numerical approach and focused on strength gains together with NSV (Non scale victories!).
We hit a problem however and that was when Fee went on holiday. She wasn’t able to relax, to indulge and to find that balance. We coached through it, reset expectations and gave her UNEQUIVOCAL permission to LIVE without restriction.
Fast forward to one year later, Fee had seen a huge transformation:
- She is now able to deadlift at 60kg, starting from nothing.
- An improved and more positive mental health outlook
- A learnt understanding of nutrition; the fact it is ok to treat yourself every now and then, without feeling guilty and learning the balance
- Self confidence
- Stamina, strength and greatly improved energy levels
- Decreased worry on her physical health following her health scare – with a sense of ‘’I’ve turned this around’’
In Fee’s Words:
‘’My PT puts me through paces but it is so worth it…Hannah you have been really amazing and love the fact that we can have a laugh as well and nothing is so serious. Like I have said before, you keep me on my toes but definitely making me to be the best version of me’’.
Fee’s transformation was more than physical, and the fact that she has stayed so loyal to Sweet Peach – allowing me to help her through her journey, feels honourable. It is a true pleasure to see the difference she has been able to make. Our weekly sessions are full of laughter and it’s such a pleasure to plan sessions which continue to challenge and push.
She is a true and loved member of my Sweet Peach community.
Fee’s journey is a testament to the power of consistency, dedication, and the right support. By focusing on sustainable changes and maintaining a positive mindset, she achieved a remarkable transformation that has impacted all areas of her life
Thank you Fee- you’re just amazing X
